Add ClearBounce to any workflow

There’s nothing to install. ClearBounce is in the app list of every Pabbly Connect account, and you connect it once with your API key.

    Choose the app. Add an action step to your workflow and search for ClearBounce under Choose App.

    Pick an action. Select one of the five actions under Action Event, for example Verify Email.

    Connect. Click Connect, choose Add New Connection, paste your API key and save. Pabbly Connect checks the key right away.

Next time, pick the saved connection under Select Existing Connection instead of pasting the key again.

Five actions

Pick one each time you add a ClearBounce step, and map the fields from the steps before it.

The result of every address in a bulk job is in Verify List in your ClearBounce dashboard, ready to download as CSV.

Route each contact by its result

Add Router (Pabbly) after the Verify Email step and give each route a filter on status from the ClearBounce response. Use Filter (Pabbly) instead when you only need to stop bad addresses. These are the four values status can have.

deliverable The mailbox exists and accepts mail. Continue. Add the contact to your CRM, list or sequence.
risky It may accept mail, but it’s catch-all, disposable, role-based or low quality. Decide per workflow. isDisposable and isCatchAll under checks tell them apart.
undeliverable The mailbox or domain doesn’t exist, or the address is malformed. Stop. Don’t send. If hasTypo has a suggested domain, ask the person to check it.
unknown The recipient’s mail server didn’t give a definite answer. Retry later with Delay (Pabbly), or treat it as risky.

Besides status, the response has reason, score, isDeliverable and a checks group with isCatchAll, isDisposable, isRoleBased, isFreeProvider and hasTypo. Each one can be mapped into a later step.

    New form submission, then Verify Email, then a Router that sends deliverable contacts to your CRM and the rest to review.

    New contact with a name and company domain, then Find Email, then Verify Email on the address it found, then update the contact.

    Map a list of addresses into Create Bulk Job, wait with Delay (Pabbly), then read the totals with Get Bulk Job Status and send them to yourself.

Set it up in four steps

  1. Create your ClearBounce API key

    Sign up and open Dashboard › API. Your live key, starting with cb_live_, is already there. Add a Test (Sandbox) key too if you want to try it for free first.

  2. Add a ClearBounce step

    In your Pabbly Connect workflow, add an action step, choose ClearBounce and pick an action event.

  3. Connect your account

    Click Connect, choose Add New Connection, paste your key and save.

  4. Map the fields and test

    Map Email to the email field from your trigger, then click Save & Send Test Request to see the response.

What does it cost to use ClearBounce in Pabbly Connect?

The app is free to add. Each verification uses one ClearBounce credit; credits start at $4 per 1,000, never expire, and every new account gets 100 free. Your workflow runs also count toward the task limit of your Pabbly Connect plan.

Should I use Verify Email or Create Bulk Job?

Use Verify Email for one address at a time, like a form signup or a new CRM contact, when the next step needs the result. Use Create Bulk Job for a whole list: duplicates are checked and charged once, and you download every result from your dashboard when the job is done.

How do I get each address’s result from a bulk job?

Get Bulk Job Status returns the progress and the totals for each status. The result of every single address is in Verify List in your ClearBounce dashboard, where you can download it as CSV. If a later step needs each result, verify the addresses one by one with Verify Email instead.

How many credits does it use?

One credit for each address verified, and one per unique address in a bulk job. Find Email, Get Bulk Job Status and Get Credits are free. See pricing.

Can I call the ClearBounce API without the app?

Yes. Use API (Pabbly) to call the ClearBounce API with your key in the X-API-Key header. The app is easier: the connection, the fields and the response are already set up.

What data is sent to ClearBounce?

The email addresses you verify, over HTTPS, and the name and domain you search for with Find Email. Each verification also appears in the history in your ClearBounce dashboard. Details are in our privacy policy.
