Connect it once, from one screen

ClearBounce sits in AcelleMail’s list of verification services, under Sending › Verification Servers › Add server. Once it’s saved, it shows up as a verification server on every list.

What to do with each result

Every contact comes back with one of four results. Deliverable is safe to send. For the other three, here’s what we’d do with a marketing list.

Undeliverable The address can’t receive mail: the mailbox doesn’t exist, the domain has no mail server, or it’s a typo like gmail.con. Remove before every send. These are the addresses that bounce, and a high bounce rate is what gets sending servers throttled.
Risky The address may work but is low quality: disposable inboxes, catch-all domains that accept anything, role addresses like info@, and likely typos. Remove disposable inboxes. Keep catch-all and role addresses that signed up themselves. On B2B lists many company domains are catch-all.
Unknown ClearBounce couldn’t get an answer this time, usually because the recipient’s mail server was slow or temporarily refusing checks. Usually keep. Removing them drops real people whose mail server happened to be slow.

Set it up in four steps

  1. Create your ClearBounce API key

    Sign up and open Dashboard › API. Your live key is already there. Copy it.

  2. Add ClearBounce as a verification server

    In AcelleMail, open Sending › Verification Servers and click Add server. Search for ClearBounce, click Select, paste your API key and save.

  3. Verify a list

    Open the list, go to the Email verification tab, choose ClearBounce as the verification server and click Start verification. Progress shows in the runs table below it.

  4. Remove the bad addresses

    On the Subscribers tab, filter by Undeliverable, select them and delete or blacklist them from the Actions menu.

The result stays with the contact

After a run, every contact on the Subscribers tab carries its result as a badge. Filter by result to see exactly who would have bounced, then delete or blacklist them in one go from the Actions menu.

Contacts that already have a result are skipped the next time you verify the list. Re-running it after an import only checks, and only charges for, the new contacts.

Questions

What do I need to use it?

An AcelleMail installation with access to Verification Servers, and a ClearBounce account. There’s nothing to install on the ClearBounce side. AcelleMail talks to the ClearBounce API with your key.

I don’t see ClearBounce in the Add server list.

ClearBounce was added to AcelleMail in October 2026. If it isn’t in your list yet, update AcelleMail to the latest version, or ask the Acelle team when it reaches your installation.

How many credits does it use?

One credit per address checked. AcelleMail skips contacts that already have a result, so running the same list again only checks the new ones. Credits start at $4 per 1,000, never expire, and every new account gets 100 free. See pricing.

Can my AcelleMail customers use it?

If their plan lets them bring their own services, customers can add ClearBounce under Sending › Verification servers with their own API key and verify their lists with it. What else they can use depends on how you set up their plans.

What data is sent to ClearBounce?

Only the email addresses being checked, over HTTPS. Each check also shows up in the verification history in your ClearBounce dashboard. Details are in our privacy policy and DPA.

I don’t use AcelleMail. Is there another way?

Yes. Upload a CSV in the ClearBounce dashboard, or connect ClearBounce to the tool your list lives in. See all integrations.
